Jimmy Carter

As President Jimmy Carter vigorously held all nations accountable for violations of human rights.  He boycotted the Moscow Olympics and used other means to remind nations of  their membership in the United Nations with their attendant commitments to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

He also stands in bold relief in the pantheon of public figures who are announced Christians.  President Carter is a visible doer of the word and his religious faith seems to be his major frame of reference when he is confronted with problems of any kind..

The  Carter Center is continually involved in humanitarian causes, and the former President has remained  an active participant on the world stage.

Jimmy Carter is one of the four American Presidents (Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, Jimmy Carter and Barack Obama) to win the Nobel Peace Prize.
